National Manager Awards

Season 11
Manager of the year - This is a manager enjoying his first season in Zimbabwe, having been persuaded to join by Nigel. He took on the reigns of the National Team and provided unprecedented success, winning first the league, then the World Cup shield and finally promotion. It was also a successful season for his club side, as S.H.I.T won the ZIM cup! The winner is of course Mattt.

New manager of the year - This was the most hotly contested category and after much deliberation it was decided that this award was to be given to ZimBula manager of the Bulawayo Buffalos. This was due to his superb cup run this season which included the shock of the tournament as he defeated Zimbabwe Warriors, before being knocked out in Round 7.

Contribution to ZIM life - A little bit embarassingly, I am forced to present this award to myself, muzza, as manager of the Reading Royals and presumably for writing as many articles as possible!!

Most improved manager of the year - This award goes to someone who improved from the third place in the prior year to win his league in the playoffs, in addition to clinching a cup semi final place. He has also done wonders in getting involved in the community, as assistant journalist, cup administrator, and NT number one fan!! Congratulations Markharrison of Old Modernians.

Thank you to all of you that voted. These awards are for recognition of all the hard work that goes into Zim BR and each vote adds more weight to them. To all the managers that were involved, congratulations on a great Season 13 and hope that you can carry this on into Season 14.

Finally I would just like to say that each and every manager in Zimbabwe deserves a reward for the effort they put in to make our community what it is. Unfortunately we are limited to just a few awards, but the winners of these deserve their rewards for all the effort they have put into BR Zimbabwe.

Season 14

The votes have been cast and for the first time ever it is a three-way tie in both the Manager of the Season and Most Improved Manager categories with each nominee gaining 6 votes.

So I am going to pass this to the Awards Panel for a final decision, hopefully by the end of today.

This does once again show the depth of talent we have in Zimbabwe if we are no longer able to pick decisive winners in these awards, so whoever loses out please do not feel aggrieved. All the managers nominated are in fact winners.

After much discussion it was decided by the Awards panel that the Manager of the Season Award should go to Thinus, whilst The Most Improved Manager Award should go to Muzza.

Congrats to the eventual winners and commiserations to the runners up.

As with last season the voting was very tight and in one category the winning margin was only a single vote. Which goes to show once again what a depth of talent we have in Zimbabwe. But without futher ado, here are the results:
