S12 Cup Chatter

This is where the fun starts for next seasons Super Zim Cup.

So who is going to win the Cup? Who will win the Plate? Who will win nothing at all?

I want all your thoughts, ideas, banter and general chit chat. So get posting guys, the floor is yours!!

I will post the fixtures as soon as we can get back on the BR (insert expletives) site!!

As Much as i'd like to retain the cup the competition just heated up so i'll be aiming for the plate . gonna be interesting thats for sure!!!!!

groups are looking good! fingers crossed i can buy a new squad in time for the first match as i am selling my whole team atm otherwise it could be a long couple of weeks !

Just amended the rules to add a Bowl competition instead of the runners up getting a trophy.

Loser from the Cup quater-finals will now go into the bowl competition, with the highest ranked teams from the groups stages getting home advantage.

Hopefully this will mean that all teams will play a minimum of 7 games, with 12 teams being involved at the semi-final stages. This should keep the interest high in the competition for longer and give all the teams in the competition a chance at a trophy

It looks like a good comp, im glad we have 16 Zim clubs part taking
and the comp looks well thought out and logically made.
I will be looking towards the lower comp myself

My group looks pretty comfortable if i may so myself ,no disrespect intended to my opponents .The problem is the elimination rounds were i might be unlucky enough to run into the monsters from group 1& 2

First round fixtures this Thursday, I am really looking forward to my clash with Div 1 new boys the Orangutans. Will be nice to test myself against a team from Zimbabwe's premier league.

Looking through the other fixtures, Seans clash with U_Vela should be a great match up.

Really excited for this competition. Bring it on.

As Mbax said in his interview tactics are going to be so important in this competition. So you never know Sean, you may pull off a shock win

I've had a relatively easy start to my Cup defence,been a perfect day for running rugby i'm up 53-3 . And sean as long as you can contain Oberholser you can keep up with Vela's boys .Easier said than done tho

Quite a few one-sided games in this round of matches, but Sean does seem to be sticking in there.

My match is all but over now a good win against Div1 opposition

That was the problem, he made about half Velas line breaks

All results are up and the league tables updated.

Looks like the top seed in each group may well finish as seeds 1-4 in the comp. It will be up to the likes of The Whoop Whoops, Bloody XV, Pasific Wolfs and myself to see if we can change this

But I have had a week to recover and a nice win last night has put me back in a positive points difference.

No real surprises so far, but the seedings in the Plate competition have thrown up a bit of a shock with Bulawayo Buffalos leading the way as 1st seeds.

Just a little bump to let people know that the results and tables have been updated.

Everyone seems to be scrapping for seedings now. Thrilled with how my group has gone, shame that it looks as if first seed is well beyond me now after last night though.

Second place is beyond me, but a good result over Chosen XV and Vela would put me top of the bottom competition

A 17-7 win over vela, shocked persnally. A big step forward from a 30 point loss earlier this season.
That should put me 1st seed for the lower competition (i think)
