Today I met with Keogh in our glorious capital Harare, over a drink we discussed a few things and here is his interview:
1. Please introduce yourself.

Name is Keogh & I'm a recent immigrant from that poor cash-starved land called Ireland. Been on BR since season 2 & was Irish NT manager in S10-11.

2. What made you choose a move to Zimbabwe and how are you finding the experience so far?

13 seasons is a long time at this game and I was looking for a new challenge. Everybody here has been very welcoming so far, much appreciated guys

3. What are your clubs ambitions for this season?

Early days yet but have targeted a league and cup double this season.

4. If you could start your club over again what things would you do differently, or would you play it the same?

Play it the same. I like to invest in youth. I see some managers buying high CSR, 30 & 31 year olds. Their club flies up the leagues, looks impressive but it all falls apart once the skills start dropping. I always love to beat those guys.

5. Please tell us who your favourite player from your team is and why?

Killian Connolly, came out of my academy 2 years ago, capped 7 times for Ireland u20 & is very impressive now. All my work!

6. Who are your team’s biggest rivals?

Gilgil RFC in the league. It's a two-horse race between us as to who gets promoted. They're a serious team that doesn't belong in Div III but they'll have to work to get out this year.

7. Why did you name your team Cill Dara Devils?

Nickname of the RL rugby team I coach.

8. What would you consider to be the best moment or achievement for your team so far?

Personally, it was getting Ireland to a NT World Cup Final. On the club front, still waiting for the spectacular. Second in Ireland's Div II, season 11, was our best finish.

9. Do you support a particular team in RL or indeed play for one?

Leinster & coach a youth team.

10. What are your favourite Band/ Song of all time and/or currently?

The Smiths. Original & still the best. 99% of the charts are shite but check out an Irish band called 'The Coronas.'

11. And the one question anyone actually cares for; If you were an animal what one would you be and why?

A torti-roo. Looks like a tortoise but if you provoke it, it can jump up and deliver a fatal blow to the head with its feet.

12. Is there anything else you would like to add?

2 + 2 to get 5?
Thanks Keogh for that interview, If anyone is interested in listening to “The Coronas” here’s a link to one of their songs.
